MediorNet HorizoN ST 2110 MultiViewer App, SmartPanel Commentary Control App, and StageLink NSA-008A Network Streaming Adapter expand Riedel’s IP-native ecosystem
Wuppertal, Germany — Riedel Communications today introduced a series of new solutions at NAB Show 2026 that advance IP-based production workflows across video, audio, and communications. With the launch of the MediorNet HorizoN ST 2110 MultiViewer App, the Commentary Control App for 1200 Series Desktop SmartPanels, and the StageLink NSA-008A Network Streaming Adapter, Riedel is further advancing its transition toward IP-native production architectures. Together, these solutions reinforce a unified approach across video, production audio, and communications, enabling more consistent, scalable, and future-proof system design.
Introducing the MediorNet HorizoN ST 2110 MultiViewer App, Riedel brings its established multiviewer technology into fully native SMPTE ST 2110 infrastructures. Running as a software application on the HorizoN platform, the solution integrates monitoring directly into the processing layer of IP-based systems. This approach allows facilities to incorporate multiviewing as part of their IP core architecture while maintaining continuity with Riedel’s proven multiviewer workflows and supporting a smooth transition from baseband and hybrid systems to full IP infrastructures. Within this architecture, the application combines SMPTE ST 2110 video, audio, and ancillary data handling with NMOS-based control and high-density processing of up to 128 PiPs and 16 heads in a single 1 RU device.
The new Commentary Control App for the 1200 Series Desktop SmartPanel brings fully IP‑native, modern commentary workflows to the SmartPanel platform, tightly integrated with the Artist-1024 intercom ecosystem. As the latest of five SmartPanel applications, it extends the platform’s multifunctional concept and represents the first commentary solution that can also operate as an intercom panel, audio monitoring interface, or control panel — all within a single, compact device. Featuring a modern, intuitive user interface and a flexible layout that adapts seamlessly to simple or advanced productions, the application reduces operational complexity for talents while built‑in remote control and monitoring capabilities make full use of modern, network-based production environments.
Rounding out the announcement is the StageLink NSA-008A, Riedel’s latest smart edge device designed to provide flexible audio connectivity within IP-based infrastructures. Supporting SMPTE ST 2110-30 and NMOS standards, the NSA-008A offers broadcast-quality audio interfacing with six universal inputs and six universal outputs in a single 1RU device. Building on the established StageLink concept, this IO box enables seamless integration of microphones, line-level sources, and AES3 signals into production audio and brand independent intercom IP networks, with integrated control when used in Artist and Bolero systems.
“As broadcast and live production infrastructures are increasingly designed as fully networked environments, video, audio, and communications are no longer separate domains,“ said Jake Dodson, Executive Director Product Management, Riedel Communications. “With these new solutions, we are expanding our IP-native portfolio across the production workflow — delivering tightly integrated tools for monitoring, commentary, and audio connectivity that work seamlessly within modern broadcast infrastructures while maintaining the performance, reliability, and workflow continuity our customers expect.”

Sony Electronics to Launch “R Series” of System Cameras
Five New Models Incorporate Improved Imaging Performance and System Expandability
PARAMUS, NJ – April 16, 2026 – Sony Electronics will launch a new series of five system cameras, HDC‑5500R, HDC‑5500RV, HDC‑3500R, HDC‑3500RV, and HDC‑3200R – collectively the R Series – along with the camera control unit HDCU-3500R and the 3D LUT option board HKCU-LUT35. The R Series enhances imaging performance resulting from the 2/3-inch three-chip 4K CMOS image sensor with global shutter functionality and provides system expandability for high-quality 4K and HDR live production, while offering compatibility and common operability across the series. The models inherit features of the multi-format HDC-5000 and HDC-3000 series of system cameras, including high-quality 4K shooting, a wider dynamic range, and no rolling shutter distortion, while the HDC-5500RV and HDC-5500R also support 4K high frame rate shooting, UHB (Ultra High Bitrate) transmission, and 12G-SDI.
The R Series is scheduled to be showcased at the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) Show 2026, April 19-22, 2026, in Las Vegas and planned to be available summer 2026.
Enhanced Imaging Functionality
The R Series cameras allow for sensitivity selection based on scene conditions while reducing white clipping by maintaining a balance between sensitivity and dynamic range, made possible by an excellent S/N ratio of -64dB that minimizes the impact on image quality. This enables more natural and three-dimensional video capture in outdoor stadiums with mixed sunlight and shadows, as well as in live music venues with challenging lighting.
The HDC-3500R, HDC-3500RV, and HDC-3200R can connect to camera control units with the newly released option board HKCU-LUT35 installed1, enabling operation with 3D LUTs that allow for more advanced color adjustments The HDC-3200R now supports the wide color gamut modes S-Gamut3 and S-Gamut3.Cine, which are used in the HDC-5000 series and HDC-3500 series, allowing for more precise color matching during multi-camera operations with different models.
Flexible Transmission Functionality
The R Series enhances transmission functionality to achieve a more flexible system configuration. The HDC-5500R and HDC-5500RV now support video trunk with two 1.5G SDI lines2. The HDC-3500R and HDC-3500RV support the new transmission method HB+, enabling video trunk and prompter with one 3G SDI line or two 1.5G SDI lines. By utilizing video trunk, it is possible to transmit signals from different video equipment while leveraging existing fiber optic cables, allowing for a more efficient system setup.
In prompter transmission, by utilizing two 1.5G SDI lines, it allows simultaneous transmission of on-air video and multi-monitor footage that enables the camera operator to check the angles of other cameras, without increasing the number of SDI cables. This reduces wiring work on set, facilitating more efficient shooting.
Additionally, the HDC-3200R now supports network trunk with a maximum of 1Gbps. By utilizing the fiber optic cable between the camera and CCU, it can transmit signals such as camera trackers and IP teleprompter signals, achieving a more efficient system setup.
Improved Operability
The HDC-5500R, HDC-5500RV, HDC-3500R, and HDC-3500RV come standard with a slide mechanism for a large viewfinder that can accommodate the 7.4-inch OLED color viewfinder HDVF-EL760 (already released). This allows the viewfinder to be fixed at any desired position, enabling stabilization by positioning the viewfinder closer to the tripod’s rotation axis. In environments where there is limited distance between the operator and the camera body, the viewfinder can slide forward to maintain a comfortable viewing distance, thus achieving greater operability.
Additionally, the latest intercom operation panel, previously used in the HDC-5500V and HDC-3500V, will also be applied to the HDC-5500R, HDC-5500RV, HDC-3500R, and HDC-3500RV. This allows for unified operability in shooting environments with mixed models.

2026 NAB Show Convenes Industry Leaders as AI, Sports and Creator Economy Redefine the Future of Media
Washington, D.C. — As the premier global event where the entire media ecosystem comes together to shape the future of storytelling, the 2026 NAB Show — scheduled April 18–22 at the Las Vegas Convention Center — brings together the companies, platforms and decision-makers driving this transformation in media and content.
The global media, entertainment and technology industries are entering a new phase, one defined not by experimentation, but by execution. AI is moving into core workflows, the economics of sports media are shifting in real time, and creators are emerging as fully scaled businesses.
“We’re at a point where the biggest shifts in media are no longer theoretical. They’re happening in real time across how content is created, distributed and monetized,” said Karen Chupka, executive vice president, Global Connections and Events at NAB. “NAB Show brings together the leaders building that future, and the business decisions shaping what comes next.”
AI Moves From Experimentation to Execution
Artificial intelligence is no longer a future-facing concept. It is now embedded across production, post, distribution and newsroom workflows, with direct implications for efficiency, cost and revenue.
At NAB Show, companies including Adobe, AWS, Microsoft, NVIDIA and Google Cloud will demonstrate how AI is being applied across the full content lifecycle. The focus has shifted toward measurable impact, from workflow automation to new monetization models, alongside growing questions around trust, authenticity and content ownership.
This year’s show floor will showcase new companies and applied innovation, almost doubling the number of AI exhibitors from 2025, including two AI Pavilions.
Sessions will explore subjects including how to turn AI from pilot projects into scalable, revenue-driving media workflows, and how to identify high-value AI use cases, avoid common pitfalls and scale what actually works in your business.
Artificial Intelligence exhibitors also include Gyrus AI (West Hall), Imagen Video (North Hall), Speechmatics (North Hall), TwelveLabs (West Hall), Veritone (West Hall) and Vizrt (North Hall).
Sports Media Enters a New Economic Era
Live sports remains one of the most valuable assets in media, but the structures around rights, distribution and ownership are changing rapidly. Leagues, teams and athletes are increasingly acting as media companies, using technology to reach audiences directly, while venues play a pivotal role in creating immersive live fan experiences.
NAB Show’s expanded four-day Sports Summit brings together leaders from leagues, teams, broadcasters, streaming platforms and investment firms to examine how capital, partnerships and platform fragmentation are reshaping the market.
Key discussions will focus on media rights strategy, the role of private equity and sovereign investment, athlete-led business models and the evolution of the fan experience across streaming, data and live environments. Jon Miller, President, Acquisitions and Partnerships for NBC Sports, will headline a fireside chat with John Ourand on rights, partnerships and the future of distribution at a critical moment for the industry.
Exhibiting companies demonstrating their innovative technologies in sports include: Canon (Central Hall), DJI (Central Hall), Dolby (West Hall), EVS (North Hall), Lumen (West Hall), Ross (North Hall), Shure (Central Hall) and Sony (Central Hall).
AWS will also have a Cloud Court Challenge activation in the West Hall Lobby, an AI-enabled, digital basketball shooting experience that will analyze participants’ shots in real time and generate personalized performance insights.
Creators Emerge as a New Layer of the Media Economy
The creator economy is entering a more structured phase, as creators move beyond audience-building to develop scalable businesses, own intellectual property and compete for distribution and revenue.
The expanded Creator Lab, now located in Central Hall, reflects that shift, bringing together creators, platforms, brands and media companies to focus on monetization, ownership and long-term sustainability. Programming will address subjects like the realities behind the creator economy’s growth, including how success is measured beyond views, how creators are navigating contracts and burnout, and how AI is reshaping the creative process.
The shift is reflected in attendance, with NAB Show reporting more than double the number of registered creators, influencers and podcasters this year, compared to 2025.
Exhibitors will be showcasing expert tools that allow content creators to build, scale and monetize their businesses. Some of these companies include: Adobe (Central Hall Creator Lab and North Hall), B+H (Central Hall), Blackmagic Design (North Hall), Canon (Central Hall), CREE8 (West Hall), DataVideo (Central Hall Creator Lab Podcast Studio and Central Hall), Epidemic Sound (Central Hall Creator Lab), FujiFilm (Central Hall), Insta360 (Central Hall), LucidLink (Central Hall), Nikon (Central Hall) and Opus Clip (West Hall).
A Convergence Point for an Industry in Transition
Across the show floor and conference program, a broader transformation is underway as media workflows become increasingly cloud-based and software-driven, and as the lines between media, technology and advertising continue to blur.
From AI-powered production and virtual workflows to next-generation distribution and immersive fan experiences, NAB Show provides a view into how the industry is evolving, and where new value is being created. With more than 1,100 exhibitors and participation from leaders across broadcast, streaming, sports and technology, NAB Show remains a central marketplace for the global media ecosystem at a time of rapid change.

YES Network Reimagines Stamford Studio With New LED Wall, Graphics Package, Software-Based Workflow
Editorial by the Sports Video Group.
At a time when most RSNs are reducing shoulder programming, the New York–area broadcaster is growing its slate of pre/postgame studio shows.
As the New York Yankees open another highly anticipated season, YES Network is rolling out a significant upgrade to its Stamford, CT–based studio. Designed not just to modernize the look of its pre/postgame coverage, the tech upgrades will fundamentally enhance how the content is produced.
The overhaul features three key pillars: a new 4K LED video-wall and monitor ecosystem, a fully redesigned studio-graphics package, and the implementation of Chyron’s PRIME platform as the engine powering a more dynamic, data-driven workflow.
The upgraded environment quietly made its on-air debut during Brooklyn Nets coverage on Sunday before stepping into the spotlight for pregame coverage ahead of Yankees season opener in San Francisco last night. YES Network’s first Yankees game telecast of the season is tomorrow, and the team’s home opener on the afternoon of April 3 will further showcase the new look.

Stary Technologies Helps Clients with AJA U-TAP for Courtroom Evidence Capture
Video is one of the lawyer’s most powerful storytelling tools in civil litigation today, whether used to transport jurors to an incident scene or challenge witness testimonies. It helps lawyers craft strong, evidence-supported narratives that persuade juries, and keeps AV specialists like Stary Technologies, LLC in high demand. Reliable HD capture of video presented on HDMI monitors to a laptop is central to the process. To ensure the signal never goes dark or missing, Stary Technologies Principal Franz Stary deploys AJA U-TAP HDMI.
Meeting diverse AV needs
Before jury selection, Stary collaborates with legal teams to prepare images, videos, x-rays, and other digital evidence, then presents them during trial. Depending on the case, he might verify the origin of a video, restore corrupted media, or blur the faces of minors to ensure privacy. He’s also enhanced security and cell phone camera footage to uncover evidence like the license plate of a hit-and-run or persons of interest.
“Every civil case is different, so our work isn’t always predictable, but video is invariably involved,” said Stary. “Jurors don’t just want to listen to a lawyer speak about fact patterns; they want to see video evidence and supporting documents.”
A setup built for success
At the start of each case, lawyers typically engage in e-discovery, gathering relevant video or documents as evidence, and then consult with experts who may be called on to testify. Stary acts as a go-between for the experts and lawyers, ensuring legal teams can present visual evidence to the jury.
Once all the materials are prepared, the lawyers select a jury, and Stary visits the courtroom to determine the AV needs. With the judge’s permission, he’ll connect an HDMI splitter to the witness stand monitor and take a signal from the splitter to a U-TAP and his laptop. This allows him to capture the main evidence feed presented and admitted by the judge with Open Broadcaster Software (OBS). During the proceedings, the bailiff regulates who can present on this monitor and others.
“U-TAP has been a huge game changer for us, helping us win sizeable cases, including a $48 million verdict in Van Nuys and a $34.1 million one in San Bernardino,” explained Stary. “Having a capture device like U-TAP in the courtroom is just smart, because it just works, and those recordings can come in handy as the case progresses.”
U-TAP is especially valuable when the opposing side fails to share exhibits before presenting them to the jury. In these cases, Stary uses U-TAP to capture everything presented and immediately sends it for paralegal and lawyer review. This allows Stary’s team to re-present documents previously shared by the opposition and clarify any mischaracterization.
“I’ve come to rely on AJA’s U-TAP in the courtroom. AJA products are well built and exceed expectations,” he said. “With U-TAP in my toolkit, I don’t have to worry about the other side trying to sandbag my client because we have everything well documented.”
Refining for the future
With modern AV technology advancing rapidly and growing more accessible, Stary sees the role of video only growing in courtrooms. With that in mind, he’s focused on improving his knowledge of AI and forensic video.
He concluded, “Video used to be cumbersome to shoot, but today everyone has a high-quality camera in their pocket, and AI and forensic digital fingerprinting for evidence will change the game. As far as resolution, courtroom AV will stay HD for quite some time, and for me, there’s no better way to capture high quality video evidence than with U-TAP.”

Sony’s Hawk-Eye video and replay technology will also be used to support officiating and video reviews on all eligible plays.
“Technology plays a central role in how the NFL continues to evolve the game,” said Aaron Amendolia, Deputy CIO of the NFL. “Sony’s integrated systems, whether officiating data or sideline communication, help us deliver a faster, clearer, and more consistent experience on our biggest stage.”
“Our partnership with the NFL is built on a shared commitment to innovation,” said Theresa Alesso, President, Imaging Products and Solutions Americas, Sony Electronics. “This year’s Super Bowl reflects how Sony technologies work together through data, communication, and imaging to support every moment of the game, from the field to the broadcast to the fan experience.”
“As the biggest game and the most-watched show of the year, the Super Bowl production requires tools we can trust,” said Ken Goss, NBC Sports EVP of Studio and Remote Operations. “Working with Sony allows us to flawlessly deliver every angle, replay and on-field moment to viewers watching around the world.”
Imaging Innovation
NBC Sports will deploy Sony’s cameras and lenses across its Super Bowl LX broadcast footprint, supporting everything from primary game coverage to specialty capture, Skycam solutions, and on‑field features. Sony’s imaging systems will help provide NBC the clarity, speed, and reliability required to deliver the most‑watched live broadcast in the United States.
Sony’s imaging technology will also play a major role supporting in-venue production teams, and sideline photographers including The Associated Press and the NFL’s in-house photography and media teams. From the shallow cinematic depth of field looks to high frame rate capture and wireless mobility, Sony’s cameras and lenses will support the visual storytelling that ensures Super Bowl LX lives far beyond game day.
New Sports Technology
In addition to Virtual Measurement and officiating replay and video support mentioned above, this year’s Super Bowl will feature the first fully integrated optical player and ball tracking environment powered by Sony’s Hawk-Eye Innovations. Sony’s Hawk-Eye SkeleTRACK system tracks 29-points on each player and 3D ball tracking. The SkeleTRACK system, in combination with Zebra Technologies’ RFID wearables, together provides a player tracking system that enhances the league’s ability to analyze on-field movement and ball position with greater clarity and consistency.
